You want to overcome today’s challenges by using technology in a sustainable way?
Sign up for our SEA:hackathon on January 9th and 10th 2021 RIGHT NOW!
SEA:hackathon is our virtual two-day event for all those who want to foster sustainable innovation by technological means. Within 48 hours we develop new ideas in heterogeneous teams – this time for creating cities that adapt a circular economy mindset.
And what’s a hackathon in general?
The term ‘hackathon‘ stems from the combination of ‘hacking’ and ‘marathon’. Originally it referred to the get together of coders but is now used in a broader sense. Nowadays designer, entrepreneurs, ecologists etc. are equally involved in a hackathon. Technological understanding and coding skills are an asset but no requirement. Our experts and coaches make sure to take everybody on this journey through the world of tech-solutions – whether hippie, hipster, hustler or hacker.
Our next hackathon:
This time it’s all about creating cities based on a circular economy. Closing loops, virtualizing services, reducing waste. There are a gazillion opportunities to create circular cities around the world.
At our third hackathon on the 9th and 10th of January 2021, it’s your chance to develop green innovations and to make cities more sustainable through the power of technology.
Sign up now until December 15th by filling out the form below. Note that this is an English event.
Why should I participate?
Join in, if you want to…

Who else is involved?
This year’s hackathon takes place in close cooperation with M:UniverCity, Hans Sauer Stiftung, Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship, founders@unibw, Technical University Munich as well as its Departement of Architecture, Unternehmertum, LMU Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center. Moreover, we’re pleased to have Amazon Web Services at our side as our technology partner.
Last time, everything revolved around sustainable mobility. Electric cars, e-scooters, Smart City. No, for us it was all about walking, cycling, public transport and commuting. So we asked ourselves the question: How can we use technology to help people in Munich move around more sustainably?
With the help of language assistants and virtual/augmented reality, the participants developed new approaches for climate-friendly mobility in Munich.
